Haiti has the capacity to challenge, to entertain, to frustrate, to open your eyes, to leave you hurting, and to heal.
Today we let the blue Caribbean surf give space to process a week full of activity and discovery. With freshly cracked open coconuts and the sweet water within, with a hot sun overhead and salty water cooling our skin, we opened ourselves to the healing quiet of a day lounging by the ocean. There is something medicinal in the sound of waves licking the beach, in the rustling of palm leaves in a tropical breeze. Meditation comes effortlessly as we let go of everything and give into the peace of the moment.
The capacity of this island continues to amaze me. The capacity of our selves is equally as interesting, but we must nurture the peace to tackle the chaos. In the company of friends and the atmosphere of sun and sand, a lot of healing was done today.
