on the move

We woke before sunrise to a chorus of roosters, cock-a-doodling the darkness. Jumbo jet engines roar overhead. As soon as our senses are engaged, we are up for the day, no matter the hour.

This morning the FHG board returned to the embassy. We just received word that all children's presence is requested at the embassy. The loading of the busses has begun. This may mean we will be getting evacuated today. Don't know if it will be a FHG plane, a CCAI plane or a military evacuation. Bags are packed and off we go... again.

More soon.

  1. Hi Kim and Patrick-
I'm a family friend from Maquoketa, and our family has been keeping tabs on your family via this blog. Plus my mom talks a lot with Patrick's mom - big surprise there...

We are all hoping and praying for your safe travel, and for the safety of all your friends, students and neighbors in Haiti.

  7. Hi Patrick and Kim! You are all in my prayers especially as you are able to get the orpans here to the USA. I'm praying for Haiti daily, I was a missionary in St. Marc from 93-98. I'm a member of Open Arms UCC in Oklahoma City, OK! I have been reading your blog since the Earthquake happened. I hope to be able to help out in Haiti later this year as the rebuild effort begins. God Bless y'all and keep you safe along with all your "family" you had to leave behind in Haiti!

  12. I've read that the buses got to hot, the children got sick and the bus turned around, is this true? Is everyone ok? My heart is breaking for you and the children. We are adopting Armstrong and know you through the yahoo group. Thank you for all you are doing! Cherie

  13. As always, best of luck and let us know if we can be of help in any way-here, there, wherever and however. I hope that you were able to get on a plane and that your flight had zero turbulence. You've had enough shaking for a lifetime and the ti moun don't need any more either. Welcome back to your other home. Hugs from the Wisconsin group-Julie
